Budget Timeline
The folks over at the Ohio Municipal League posted the time line for HB 153 (the budget) in the Ohio House:
The House Finance and Appropriations Committee has also set a hearing schedule as follows:
The five subcommittees will have the next two weeks for their budget hearings. The full committee will then take public testimony on the Kasich administration bill April 12-April 14.
Subcommittees are to have their amendments to Rep. Amstutz by Friday, April 15, with staff taking the next two weeks –to prepare a substitute bill.
That sub bill is expected to be accepted by the full committee on Thursday, April 28, with public testimony in the full committee on Friday, April 29 and Monday, May 2.
A committee vote is expected on Tuesday, May 3 and a House floor vote on Thursday, May 5 vote.
The K-12 education section of the budget will be heard by the Primary and Secondary Education Finance Subcommittee this week and next.
The schedule for this week:
Tuesday, April 5 – 6:00 PM – Room 114 – community schools, educational service centers, early childhood education
Wednesday, April 6 – 2:30 PM – Room 116 – career tech, gifted and special education
Thursday, April 7 – 10 AM – Room 122 and 1:00 PM Room 122 – traditional public schools
Friday, April 8 – 10:00 AM – Room 114 – open testimony
